The National Park Service has prepared a Fields Management Plan and related environmental assessment for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (NRRA) that provides comprehensive management direction for the parks fields over the next 10 years.
The EA describes and analyzes the impacts of two alternatives:
Alternative A – no-action. Alternative B – actively manage most fields, allow a small number to revert or forest (preferred alternative). Alternative C – manage all fields.
Copies of the Fields Management Plan and Environmental Assessment are available on the internet at the National Park Service Planning, Environment and Public Comment web page at https://parkplanning.nps.gov and selecting Big South Fork NRRA.
A limited number of copies of the plan are also available by contacting Big South Fork NRRA Headquarters at (423) 569-9778, or by writing Superintendent, Big South Fork, 4564 Leatherwood Road, Oneida, Tennessee, 37841. Public reading copies are available at the Fentress County, McCreary County and Scott County Public Libraries.
