Big South Fork to Observe Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19th

Oneida, TN - Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will observe Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19, 2025, by offering a 50 percent discount on fees for use of the Bandy Creek Pool and for backcountry camping permits.

As part of this special observance, the Bandy Creek Pool and wading pool will be open on Thursday, June 19. This is in addition to the normal operating schedule of Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays through Labor Day. Pool hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. An individual season pass is available for purchase online at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/1014029937 or at the campground entrance station for $25.00.

Experience the quiet beauty of a starlit sky while camping in the backcountry of Big South Fork. Permits may be obtained in person at a contact station or online at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/353488124. Each permit is valid for up to 14 consecutive nights.

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area invites visitors to explore its trails, waterways, and historic sites in 2025 and beyond. Additional information about upcoming events and recreational opportunities are available online.
