Big South Fork Proposes to Increase Some Camping Fees Effective January 1, 2018

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is proposing to increase the nightly fee rates for all campsites at Bandy Creek and Blue Heron Campgrounds.

Revenue generated from these fees will provide essential funding for projects such as replacing and upgrading all outdated electrical pedestals in the campgrounds, installing new food storage lockers to protect wildlife and visitors, and to offset the upcoming increase in fees for the reservation system as well as prevent undercutting local businesses.

With the exception of the Bandy Creek group camp fee rate, this will be the first increase since 2007. 
 
Bandy Creek Campground offers electric and water hook-up sites, tent sites, and two group camps. The following list shows the current nightly rates and the proposed rates:

BANDY CREEK CAMPGROUND (15 miles west of Oneida, Tennessee)

BLUE HERON CAMPGROUND (8 miles from Stearns, Kentucky)

Blue Heron Campground offers electric and water hook-up sites. The rate per night is currently $17. The proposed fee is $20 per night based on similar operations near the area.
 
These rates are proposed to take effect on January 1, 2018. Reservations already made in advance will be honored.
