Oneida, Tennessee: The National Park Service and the Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork have partnered to replace 10 existing metal horse tie-stalls with pipe panel horse corrals at Station Camp Campground at Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. The new horse corrals that are being installed are similar to a prototype corral installed in 2024 in Station Camp. The corrals are installed to enhance the safety and functionality of equestrian facilities. Similar work will start taking place at Bear Creek Campground this winter.

“We are delighted to have the Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork volunteer with the park and helping us to provide an improved campground experience for our equestrian visitors”, said Superintendent Niki Stephanie Nicholas.

Station Camp Campground was constructed in 1993 and contains 24 individual sites for equestrian campers as well as non-equestrian campers. Campsites are available for reservation by calling 877-444-6777 or making reservations on www.recreation.gov.
