Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will celebrate the National Park Service turning 99 years old at its "Art in the Park" reception on Saturday, September 5, at the Bandy Creek Visitor Center. The reception will start at 5:00 p.m. (ET). During this event, the winning entries of the park's first annual photo contest will be revealed for five categories: fauna, flora, landscapes, artistic and youth. The photo entries will be judged on technical excellence, originality, creativity, visual impact, and artistic merit. The band South Sycamore will be providing entertainment of bluegrass music, and light refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact Bandy Creek Visitor Center at (423) 286-7275. |
