A Student Conservation Association (SCA) crew has just completed a 4-week work assignment here at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (NRRA). This year’s crew rebuilt a hiking bridge in Kentucky on the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail where the trail crosses Watson Branch as well as performing some much needed maintenance on the trail itself.

SCA is a nationwide force of high school and college-age volunteers who are committed to protecting and preserving the environment. Every year between one and three crews visit Big South Fork NRRA and complete work projects which support the parks vast trail system.

High school and college students interested in working with the SCA are encouraged to visit the organizations web page for additional information.
