Volunteers Make a Difference in Big Cypress National Preserve

Big Cypress National Preserve gets support from the public in many ways, all of which are critical to protecting these ecosystems! There are many ways in which you can help the Preserve thrive.

  1. Pick up any trash that you see in the wild and place it in trash or recycling bins
  2. Stay at least 25 feet from all wildlife. This gives them (and you) an avenue for retreat.
  3. Never feed wildlife--you may not see the impacts, but animals that have been fed become habituated to humans and are more likely to approach other humans.
  4. Consider volunteering with us! Whether it's just for a day or for six months, there are many ways you can help Big Cypress National Preserve and experience it in a totally new way.
  5. Make your voice heard by submitting to public comment on open NEPA (National Environmental Protection Act) Projects
