A bountiful harvest of berries is available on the Seward Peninsula from July to the first frost. Bog blueberries, crowberries, low-bush cranberries, and salmonberries are among the top edible berries that people pick for jams, and desserts. If you have the opportunity to pick berries, take care to identify the ones you are picking. Keep in mind, there are some poisonous berries in Alaska.
