Storage Rooms

Many of the stone rooms in Frijoles Canyon probably spent a part of their life as storage rooms for food.

The people of Frijoles Canyon dried meat, corn, beans, squash, and other foods to preserve them. These dried foods were stored in large pots for use in the winter and during hard times. Many rooms on the ground floor of Tyuonyi may have been storage rooms.
