NPS

The National Park Service mobile app is available to download. The app features content for every National Park Service site, including Badlands.
This app has all the information you need to plan a trip. Wondering what to see related to geology and paleontology, overlooks, and wildlife? This app has you covered.
Need information related to hiking, guided tours, camping, junior ranger programs, it's all in the app.
There are too many features to list. Visit the App Store or Google Play to download.

Using the App

Cellular service within the park is inconsistent. In order to make use of the app while at Badlands, follow these simple steps before you arrive:

  1. Download the app.
  2. In the app, select the "Settings" option.
  3. Tap the choice "Download Offline Content."

By doing this, most of the app content will be available for use in the park (the exceptions being alerts, calendar updates, and real-time updates—accessing those items before leaving service will at least keep that information in the app). Even without cellular service, the app will be able to share your location on the map and bring up all site content.
