Badlands National Park is a stunning location to bring students for a field trip. The park offers a stunning backdrop featuring mixed grass prairie and eroded rock layers with the occasional exposed 35 million year old fossil exposed in the rock. Badlands is a great learn about the prairie ecosystem, geology, erosion, or history.
There are several ways to enhance learning using the resources at Badlands. A ranger-led field trip to the park gets the students immersed in the park. Teachers can also bring students on their own and teach their own curriculum. If you can’t make it to the park, we can come to you virtually or in person.
We also have resources for teachers. Check out our curriculum page for activities that meet state and national standards. Badlands will also host teacher workshops in the future.
