What is Blooming in Yellowstone During July?

The State Flower of Montana, the Bitterroot, is in full bloom in Yellowstone during July.

The Fringed Gentian is the official flower of Yellowstone National Park.

The month of July is a great one for wildflower watching. Along with the Montana State Flower, the bitterroot, the Yellowstone National Park Flower, the fringed gentian, is also blooming. Look for a bright yellow aster, woodland star, and Dusty Fairy Maidens on park trails this month.

Balsamroot is also in bloom and prolific! Some mountain meadows appear yellow when carpeted with their blooms. Learn more about Yellowstone wildflowers here.
