In the kitchen of the house, Susie Verkamp relates the family history moving to Flagstaff, AZ then Grand Canyon, and about the family's meals; how 7 people shared one bathroom. She talks about what 5 kids did when there was no television, and about long-term employees Don and Edith Lounghoma.

This part of the tour takes place in the large basement under the Verkamps Building, which served as a warehouse for their retail store. Susie tells behind-the-scenes stories that include: receiving merchandise, stocking and cleaning the store and doing inventory. Then, the group goes outside and they discuss the exterior condition of the building.
