DSC awarded a $4 million contract to a small business in Anchorage, Alaska to construct a wood-framed two story 12-bedroom dormitory on an empty lot within the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in downtown Skagway, Alaska.

The Denver Service Center (DSC) and the Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) hosted a two-day industry fair in May 2021 to give interested businesses more information on contracting with the federal government specifically for projects funded by the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF), created by the Great American Outdoors Act.

More than 250 people participated in each day of the event, where they were able to virtually interact with National Park Service (NPS) project teams, learn more about 16 individual LRF-funded projects through project presentations, and get more information on how to bid on projects with the federal government.

The cross-division collaborative effort to involve more businesses in LRF-funded projects was a success and will hopefully result in a more competitive bidding process on upcoming projects. Presentations from the event will be available soon on the DSC Contracting Services Division website.
