Wildlife veterinarian, Michelle Verant, talks about her innate connection with animals and the land.

      Meet Michelle Verant

Michelle Verant is a wildlife veterinarian with the Biological Resource Division. She studies how the health of humans, animals, and the enviroment are all tied together. She uses science to figure out how our ecosystem, which is a lot like a giant puzzle, is put together. Human and wildlife health are big pieces in that puzzle and she helps us know more about how they work in order to understand the big picture.

Even from a young age, she knew she wanted to work with animals but also to learn more about them- like how do gills in fish work?

"As soon as I learned how to talk I was wondering 'Why' 'Why is this the way it is'?"
