Rolling RFP for Buildings at Fort Hancock

The National Park Service (NPS) is requesting proposals to lease multiple historic buildings for any compatible use of historic buildings, (such as residential, lodging, or business use related to residential or lodging use),commercial use, or nonprofit within Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark, in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area (Gateway).

Request for Proposals

This is a rolling solicitation. Note that all buildings identified in connection with this opportunity are either leased; under a letter of intent; or subject to an agreement. The National Park Service (NPS) is still accepting proposals as backups. Backup proposals may be considered in the order received if or when one of the buildings identified herein becomes available again. The NPS is prepared to offer a lease term of up to 60 years.

The face of the sealed envelope must include the Applicant's name and address, along with the following information:

PROPOSAL ENCLOSED –MAILROOM DO NOT OPEN. Proposal Submittal Deadline: Proposals are due monthlly, on the last Friday of the month, until all buildings available under this RFP are leased or the NPS diconstinues this solicitation. Please submit proposals to:

The NPS will continue to accept responses to this RFP, in accordance with the schedule identified above, until all buildings available under this RFP are leased or the NPS discontinues this solicitation. Electronic submission of proposals by email to e-mail us is permitted though such submissions will not have been deemed received until NPS issues a written response acknowledging receipt. Telephonic proposals, faxes, and other means of transmittal will not be considered. Proposals or other materials submitted in response to the RFP will not be returned.

Locations and Opportunities

Opportunity: Lease of Government Facilities for any compatible use of Officers Row buildings, such as residential, lodging, or business use related to residential or lodging use within Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark, in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area (Gateway). The selection of available buildings for compatible use is subject to the completion of ongoing negotiations now underway with the applicants selected during the Pilot Phase.
