DSC Technical Information Center Leads NPS Historic Document Preservation

Xanterra, official concessionaire of Grand Canyon National Park, loaned a large collection of documents to the Technical Information Center for scanning and cataloging. The collection includes plans for the Bright Angel Lodge, El Tovar, Mather Point, Hopi House, and Desert View Trading Post.

The Denver Service Center (DSC) Technical Information Center (TIC) is the National Park Service (NPS) repository for planning, design and construction project information, and assists parks and programs with document preservation for future generations.

This year the Technical Information Center worked on several preservation projects by scanning, digitizing, and archiving documents from:

More than 50,000 documents are accessible to the public on the Electronic Technical Information Center (eTIC) website, with new documents added often.
