Brimstone Fire
The remote Brimstone Fire was detected on the afternoon of August 26 east of Yellowstone Lake. Likely caused by lightning, it is burning in a spruce and fir forest. Managers will monitor the fire.
The Brimstone Fire does not pose a threat to park visitors. All services in the park are open. All roads leading into and through the park are open.
Park visitors and communities east of the park should anticipate varying levels of smoke from the fire.
