2022 Spring Hikes

All hikes will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will last approximately 2-3 hours. The length of each programs is a little different, but plan on hiking at least 2 miles. Please wear proper shoes/hiking boots and the programs will go on rain or shine. Each hike will start at the location included below. Please call the visitor center at 301- 432-5124 with any questions.

Saturday, March 19 - Irish Brigade Hike. Meet at the visitor center.
Sunday, March 20 - Witness Tree Hike. Meet at the visitor center.

Sunday, March 27 - Burnside Bridge Hike. Meet at Auto Tour Stop #9, The Burnside Bridge.

Sunday, April 3 - 13th New Jersey Regiment at Antietam. Meet at the visitor center.

Saturday, April 9 - The Sunken Road Hike. Meet at the visitor center.
Sunday, April 10 - Rodman's Advance Hike. Meet at Auto Tour Stop #9.

Sunday, April 17 - Philadelphia Brigade Hike.

Sunday, April 24 - Families of the Battlefield Hike. Meet at the Newcomer House, located 1 mile east of Sharpsburg, MD on Route 34.

Sunday, May 1 - The East Woods Hike. Meet at the visitor center.

Saturday, May 7 - Spring Has Sprung Discovery Hike. Meet at Auto Tour Stop #9, The Burnside Bridge for this program to discover more about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and the plants and animals that reside at the battlefield.
