Battlefield Orientation Talks - 30-minute overview of the Maryland Campaign. Starts at the Visitor Center at 9:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. Special Guest Lecture - Join retired National Park Service historian and author Scott Hartwig will discuss his new book "I Dread the Thought of the Place: The Battle of Antietam and the End of the Maryland Campaign." Program held at the Visitor Center starting at 1:00 pm. Weapon Firing Demonstrations - Living history program demonstrating Civil War artillery. 45-minute program is held just outside of the Visitor Center at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Sunday, September 17thSunrise at Antietam - Experience sunrise on the morning of the 161st Anniversary in the famous Cornfield.
