Volunteering is the number 1 way to get more involved here at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site. Depending on your area of interest, you can put on a costume and help Park Rangers lead interpretive programs or even lead a program of your own; rove on a trail and provide information to hikers; assist in the visitor center with greeting visitors; and/or even conducting or assisting in original, ongoing research. Really, the opportunities are endless. If you are interested in volunteering, please call (814) 886-6150 and ask for the volunteer coordinator.
