Current Seasonal Weather

Be prepared for hot summer temperatures. Protect yourself by bringing lots of water to drink, wearing sunscreen and a hat, and taking breaks in the shade when needed. There are two water refill stations at the visitor center, located at the front by the restrooms and in the courtyard between the bookstore and museum, and our picnic area offers shady places to sit and hydrate.

Monsoon season (June - September) brings the desert to life. These rains occur mostly in the afternoons over the mountains, sending rain and wind our way. They can cause flooding and soft mud around the ancestral structures, so be careful to stay on hardended surfaces during these times. Bring rain gear and umbrellas as an extra precaution when traveling.
