Tuesday, April 16, 2013 will be a "fee free" Family Fun Day at Wright Brothers National Memorial from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as the National Park Service celebrates Wilbur Wright's 146th birthday. Wilbur Wright was born near Millville, Indiana on April 16, 1867.He and his younger brother Orville were the first to fly on that historic morning of December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Junior Flight Ranger Program:Earn your Junior Ranger badge!Designed for kids ages 5-13. Pick-up a Junior Ranger booklet at the visitor center information desk. 10:00 a.m. - Flight Room Talk: Learn how the Wright brothers solved the problems of human flight as a park ranger tells the story of their triumph at Kitty Hawk. Visitor Center Flight Room Auditorium (30 min). 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Lets Go Fly a Kite: There will be fun for the whole family kite building and kite flying demonstration by Kitty Hawk Kites. Centennial Pavilion and park grounds 11:00 a.m. - Fun in Flight: A family activity designed for the kids. Experience the fun of building a gliding machine.Design and construct a paper airplane and test the winds of the Outer Banks, just like the Wrights. Centennial Pavilion (30 min).

Visitor Center Flight Room Auditorium (30 min). 2:00 p.m. - Fun in Flight: A family activity designed for the kids.
