Operating Hours & Seasons
The Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route NHT can be travelled year-round. The NHT connects national, state, and local parks as well a great number of historic sites and landmarks. Visitors should contact sites or attractions individually as operating hours vary widely by site and season. The contact information for some sites is located on the Things to Do page.
Did You Know?
Revolutionary War veteran Joseph Plumb Martin, in his 1830 memoir, recounted seeing the French fleet under Admiral de Grasse for the first time, “[We] soon arrived at the mouth of James’ river, where were a number of armed French vessels and two or three fifty gun ships. We passed in sight of the French fleet, then lying in Lynnhaven bay; they resembled a swamp of dry pine trees.”
