What's new?
Park switches to "Pure Power!" Our area utility company allows both residential and business customers to pay 1.5 cents per killowatt hour more for "pure power." The program, which is certified by the EPA and the Department of Energy, removes your normal carbon-based energy usage (kilowatt hours) off of the grid and replaces it by purchasing the same amount of wind- or water-based power. With a commitment to participate as a Pure Power Supporter, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site will help prevent 448,500 lbs of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year. This CO2 reduction is the equivalent of protecting 170 acres of forest which stores carbon for one year, or taking 44 cars off the road for a year.
Want all the latest news? The park publishes a quarterly newsletter entitled "News from White Haven." You can check it out here. If you'd like to receive the website link for each future issue, ULSG_interpretation@nps.gov to get on the e-mail list.
