The Park as a Classroom

Welcome teachers and other educators! Shenandoah National Park is an ideal resource for in-depth learning experiences with cross-curricular activities in science, history, social studies, language arts, and math that meet national and state learning standards.

Our education office offers many resources for educators to enjoy the Park with their students, including: ranger-led education programs in the Park, ranger visits to the classroom, pre-written lesson plans for teachers to utilize in the Park, live distance learning education programs to connect classrooms to the Park, interactive online curriculums that can be done in the classroom or at home, academic entrance fee waivers for self-guided field trips to the Park, and other educational resources. Professional development opportunities for educators are offered periodically throughout the year.

Schedule now! See open program dates here: program request.
