San Juan National Historic Site Superintendent Walter J. Chavez announcesthe "Artisans in December" activity to be held in the park. For the secondconsecutive year Castillo San Cristobal will welcome a select group of local artisansto showcase and sell their art work. The Artisans in December program will beoffered during the weekend of December 14-15, and will be available from 9 am to 6 pm onSaturday and Sunday. Artisans will be displayingand selling crafts such as; wood carvings, musical instruments, glass, jewelryand will be providing demonstrations of their craft making. In addition, wewill present the Lelolai show at Placita Norzagaray with the Areyto dancers and musical group on Saturday,December 14 at 4:30 pm. Lelolai performances will also be offered on January 6and January 12, at Castillo San Cristobal. Please come and join us, "I encourage everyone to come and visit aswell as enjoy the performance of Areyto at Castillo San Cristobal during thisactivity and enjoy what our local artisans have to offer" said SuperintendentWalter J. Chavez. "It will also give our visitors a glimpse of the beautifullocal crafts that Puerto Rico has to offer, and possibly consider purchasing anoriginal Puerto Rican craft for a Christmas gift." added Superintendent Chavez. San Juan National Historic Site is comprisedof Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, Fort San Juan de LaCruz (El Cañuelo), San Juan Gate, and most of the City Wall. The site is openeveryday from 9:00AM to 6:00PM, and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and NewYear's Day.Admission to San Juan NHS is$3 for adults for one fortification and $5 for both and free of charge forthose 15 and under. |
