Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will the real Visitor Center open?

The park staff are creating a General Management Plan for the park. This plan will help the park management team and park partners make decisions about future park development. The plan is scheduled to be finished by 2008.

Currently the park is exploring the feasibility of building a Visitor Center with diplays of Rosie/Home Front stories and memorabilia within the historic Ford Assembly Building.

2. When will the museum open?

The park has been actively collecting stories and memorabilia from the World War II Home Front.  Portions of this collection will someday be displayed in the visitor center in Richmond.

3. If I have made a donation, can I come to Richmond and see a display with my story now?

Since the Visitor Center has not been constructed, we don't have items from the collection on display. However, we can make special appointments for donors and family/friends to view the collection. Please call 510-232-5050 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are subject to staff availability.

4. Does the park offer interpretive tours?

Tours are available for groups and individuals by appointment. Please call 510-232-5050 to make arrangements for a tour. Tours are generally available Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm.
