Point Reyes National Seashore will be resurfacing the Cross Marin Trail with a slurry seal on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21, 2007. The trail will remain closed during that time so the new material can set. Slurry seals are for sealing aged and raveled pavements, filling minor cracks, restoring skid resistance and restoring aesthetic appeal. The Cross Marin Trail is a path off of Sir Francis Drake Blvd going through Samuel P. Taylor State Park. It is a very popular alternative route for cyclists as they avoid the vehicle traffic along that stretch of Sir Francis Drake. Signs will be posted to advise hikers and cyclists of the closure.
