High Wind Advisory for Point Reyes National Seashore on Monday, April 8, 2013

The National Weather Service report for this morning has issued a high wind advisory now in effect until 8 pm this evening.

The average wind speeds last evening were clocked at 40 miles per hour near the Point Reyes Lighthouse, with a peak wind speed of 75 miles per hour. The stairs leading down to the Point Reyes Lighthouse close when wind speeds exceed 40 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service report also stated possible impacts from these high winds include loose outside items could be blown around or damaged and difficult driving conditions exist especially for high profile vehicles.
