Point Reyes National Seashore will begin the annual shuttle bus program beginning on Saturday, December 28. Operating only on weekends and holidays until early April, the popular shuttle bus program runs from Drakes Beach to the Lighthouse and then on to Chimney Rock before returning to Drakes Beach. Park visitors need to purchase tickets at Drakes Beach from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. No advance reservations are required. The price is $4.oo for adults and children under 12 are free.

This program was introduced to reduce the number of vehicles travelling to the Point Reyes Headlands during this busy time of year. As the Pacific gray whale journeys past he Headlands, the northern elephant seals also return to the beaches for pupping and breeding. Shuttles will not operate during inclement weather. Visitors can call the Bear Valley Visitor Center for more information at 415-464-5100.
