Last winter’s storms damaged sections of Limantour Road in Point Reyes National Seashore. The road has now been repaired and the road is open to the public after two months of road work. Limantour Road leads through the heart of the National Seashore to Limantour Beach and Estero, a haven for migratory shorebirds and waterfowl. Numerous hiking trails start at trailheads along Limantour Road such as Sky Trail, Bayview Trail, and Coast Trail. Point Reyes National Seashore offers over 140 miles of hiking trails and over 80 miles of scenic coastline. Drakes Beach offers outstanding beach access and has a visitor center and cafe. Point Reyes Beaches North and South are on a 12-mile stretch of coastline with some access for dogs on leash. Please check at the visitor centers for more detailed information. -NPS- |
