Civil War Battlefield Trail Environmental Assessment

Pecos National Historical Park constructed a 2.25 mile foot trail within the Pigeon's Ranch Sub-Unit of the Glorieta Battlefield Unit of Pecos National Historical Park. The trail provides access to viewing areas of the battlefield site along Arrowhead Ridge and on Windmill Hill, and associated signage provides interpretive information on the 1862 Battle of Glorieta Pass. By constructing this permanent trail, Pecos National Historical Park fulfills its mandate to preserve, protect and interpret the battlefield.
