The Obed WSR participated in an annual summer tradition...Science Camp. Approximately 30 middle school students from schools in Morgan and Knox Counties took part on Tuesday, May 31st, in a three-day outdoor fest which has been going on for several decades. The students spent a half day rock climbing at the park and a half day receiving paddling instruction at the Lilly Bridge section of Clear Creek. The Obed was joined in this annual endeavor with park rangers and instructors from nearby Frozen Head State Park, where the students camped.
Did You Know?
Did you know that when Native Americans first came across the Obed, they realized that the ground was too steep for settlement and too rough for farming? They did, however, rely on the Obed for hunting, and used the bluffs for shelter.
