WARTBURG, Tennessee:The Obed Wild and Scenic River will be hosting the next Memories of the Obed program on Saturday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. (EST).This free program will be held inside the Obed Visitor Center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg, and will be the next installment of several regular programs that will explore the unique river-related memories of local individuals. Each month, a different speaker will discuss their memories of life in the vicinity of the river and will provide a window into what life was like in more simple and self-sufficient times. This month's program will feature Juanita and Roy Guinn, early whitewater paddling users of the river. Memories to be shared include stories about fishing in Clear Creek, local moonshining in years gone by, the gristmill at Lilly Bridge, and the advent of recreational activities such as whitewater paddling and rock climbing at the Obed Wild and Scenic River.

No reservations are required to attend this program.
