Plan ahead for your visit to the Park. Wear comfortable shoes if you plan on walking our trails. During the Summer, remember to drink lots of water. The modern town of Ninety Six is located 2 miles north of the Park. A few fast food places & family restaurants are located in town. Ninety Six National Historic Site is truly a special park. It was featured as the National Park Service's Park of the Week the week of October 4-10, 2004. |
Did You Know?
Ninety Six got its name around 1730 because it was believed to be 96 miles from here to Keowee, which was a Lower Cherokee town, around Clemson, SC today. You can view the remnants of the Cherokee Path & many other historic roads at Ninety Six National Historic Site.
