Ninety Six National Historic Site re-opens to visitors today [October 17, 2013].Visitors can access public areas and roads immediately while facilities and other public services are brought back online.Ninety Six National Historic Site has been closed since October 1 due to the lapse in Congressional appropriations.

"We are excited happy to be back at work and welcome visitors to Ninety Six National Historic Site," said Superintendent John Slaughter. "Autumn is a particularly special season to enjoy all that Ninety Six has to offer."

The visitor center hours of operations are 9 AM – 4 PM, Wednesdays-Sundays.The visitor center will be closed on Mondays and Tuesday. Star Fort Pond is closed 9 AM Sundays – 9 AM Tuesdays. Park grounds are open dawn to dusk. Park gates lock at 5 PM.

Did You Know?

Star Fort

The Star Fort was built in late 1780 & completed in early 1781 by Loyalist soldiers & slaves. The eight point Star Fort walls were originally 14 feet in height. The Star Fort was one of the most difficult to construct.
