    Effective 3.10.13 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Visitor Center & parking is CLOSED Wednesdays & Thursdays. Fridays - Tuesdays, the park will be open 10 AM - 4 PM. Star Fort Pond is CLOSED 9 AM Sundays – 9 AM Tuesdays.

Fishing Rodeo
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources hosts the Star Fort Pond youth fishing rodeo on Saturday, May 4, 2013. This will be the first time the youth fishing rodeo will occur in a number of years.

To honor Ninety Six’s Revolutionary War history, Ninety Six National Historic Site will host a weekend of special events on April 13- 14, 2013. “96 Crossroads: Revolution at the Star Fort” is a free event! Programs and activities will be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on Sunday. The Visitor Center will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm both days.

Ninety Six got its name around 1730 because it was believed to be 96 miles from here to Keowee, which was a Lower Cherokee town, near where Clemson, SC is today. You can view the remnants of the Cherokee Path & many other historic roads at Ninety Six National Historic Site.
