Lake Clark National Park and Preserve has two self-guided Junior Ranger Activity Books: Junior Ranger Journey and Where There Are Bears. The Junior Ranger program is a way to introduce children – and those young at heart – to the natural wonders of the park and explore their own role in preserving these wonders for future generations. Activities help participants learn about geology, history and culture, wildlife, how the remote nature of the park influences these resources, and much more.

Be a Junior Ranger In Person

If you are visiting the park in person, pick up your free Junior Ranger Activity Book at the Visitor Center in Port Alsworth, or speak with a backcountry ranger at Chinitna Bay, Silver Salmon Creek, and Upper Twin Lake. A park ranger at any of these locations will review and sign your completed book, lead you in the Lake Clark Junior Ranger pledge, and present you with an official badge.
