Intern Hannah Dixon directs students to a new activity
My internship with the education office turned out to be a great experience…one that provided many surprises. I discovered that I really enjoy working with kids, especially the younger elementary. To make history come alive for them through activities, objects, and stories was a joy. One of the really cool things that happened fairly often was when kids who had been on your program earlier in the day would run up to you on the sidewalk and tell you about the other things they had learned or seen in the Park. They remembered your name and wanted to share their discoveries with you. To be able to touch lives like that is a highly rewarding experience.
