Parks as Classrooms

Curriculum Materials

Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers teachers a wide variety of fun and free curriculum-based programs. Our park programs enhance classroom learning by using the cultural and natural resources as teaching tools. Through place-based learning, students make real-world connections with science and history, while having fun at the same time!

Field Trips

Planning a field trip can be a challenging experience. The park has education staff in both North Carolina and Tennessee who can help navigate the process.

Institutes & Field Schools

Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont and the Smoky Mountains Field School offer workshops and programs for everyone from school students to senior citizens.
