Gateway headquarters, at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, where the New York City Marathon begins every year except 2012.

Gateway headquarters at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island on the day of the New York City Marathon. The marathon regularly begins at the Fort, attracting tens of thousands of participants.

Gateway headquarters

Gateway's three units are administered from offices at Fort Wadsworth, where the Verrazano Bridge meets Staten Island. Staff can be reached during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. All mail should be sent to Gateway Headquarters. Mail intended for a particular person or unit should be labeled as such on the envelope.

Unit offices

Gateway has several smaller offices throughout its three units. However, it is best to reach them via phone. (At this writing, most of Gateway remains closed due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Offices in those areas are not open to the public.)

Jamaica Bay Unit (718-338-3799) includes:

  • Great Kills Park
  • Miller Field

Sandy Hook Unit has no phone service at this time due to Hurricane Sandy. Unit includes:

  • Fort Hancock Historic District
  • Sandy Hook beaches B-North Beach
