Bring a ranger into your classroom to speak on a variety of topics that work into your class's curriculum simply for experience of learning something new! We have 4 suggested topics of discussion;

  1. Intro to the National Parks -Learn all about the National Park Service! Students will learn about our mission, all different types of places we represent, the meaning behind the National Park Service Arrowhead and more!
  2. Animals of Gateway National Park – Learn all about the different animals that call Gateway home! Students will have to opportunity to see taxidermized specimens, shells, and pelts.
  3. Salt Marshes and why we love them – These ecosystems are in a vital component to life, not just in the animal world but for us humans as well!
  4. Careers in the National Park Service – Want to know how to become a park ranger? What about all the different types of jobs you can have in the NPS? Students can ask and learn about the organization and all different things you can do while wearing the green and grey!

If you'd like the rangers to discuss another topic than those suggested, please allow at least a week for our rangers to familiarize themselves with the material. All Gateway education programs are 100% free! Reserve any of our education programs by emailing us at gate_education@nps.gov
