  • Expect Large Crowds - June 20-24, 2013

    Expect large crowds and possible delays due to a motorcycle rally, Thunder in the Valley, in Johnstown, PA. The memorial has limited parking for motorcycles. An overflow gravel parking lot will be in use as additional parking for other vehicles.

  • Detour - Route 281 - June 17-July 29,2013

    This detour is after the US 219 junction, so visitors following the recommended driving directions (see link below) will not need to navigate the detour. The detour follows country roads and is not recommended for buses, RVs, and other large vehicles. More »

    Short delays are possible along US 30 at PA 281 due to construction - April 1 - October, 2013

Untold Stories
The National Park Service has now collected oral histories from more than 750 individuals with a direct connection to Flight 93. Up until now, the voices of students who were in the Shanksville-Stonycreek School near the crash site that day have been absent. Watch a brief video clip of an effort to change that.

The plans for the permanent Flight 93 National Memorial include 40 groves of trees to commemorate the lives of the 40 passengers and crew of Flight 93.
