Job Title:  Fire Cache Assistant

 

Location:  Pine Island Fire Cache, Homestead, FL

 

Project Duration: Ongoing      

Hours Per Week: Flexible, Mon-Fri        

Hours Per Month: Flexible

 

 


Description of Duties:  Fire is a natural and integral part of the Everglades ecosystem.  The fire management division is involved in the control of wildfires, as well as the planning and implementation of prescribed fire operations.  Become part of the fire management team by inventorying, stocking and distributing firefighting equipment and supplies, delivering fire equipment and supplies to firefighters in the field and assisting in maintaining fire equipment, including fire engines, pumps, hand tools, all-terrain vehicles and other small motorized equipment.

 

 


Benefits: Volunteers will gain experience in fire operations and knowledge of fire-related programs.

 

Goal/Outcome of Position:   To streamline fire cache operations.

 

 


Knowledge/Skills/Experience Desired:  The volunteer should have an interest in fire management and operations.
