The SFCMC museum archives contains over 3.5 million documents and images detailing the natural and cultural resources and the administrative histories of the five south Florida park units.
Highlights from the collection include: the Everglades National Park Commission Records (Ernest Coe's papers); photographs of Old Flamingo; Everglades Superintendent's Monthly Narratives 1947-1968; oral histories with former soldiers from the Nike missile base HM-69; De Soto Superintendent's Monthly Narratives 1950-1967; newspaper clippings from 1920s-present; glassplate negatives of Fort Jefferson in 1898; oral histories from former residents of the Big Cypress National Preserve; papers of the Safe Progress Association which worked to protect Biscayne Bay; and documentation of the cultural and natural resources of the five park units.
