Mesa Verde Visitor and Research Center, Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado

The visitor and research center consists of two main building components: the 7,400 square foot Visitor Information Center and the 16,300 square foot Curatorial Center. This high-performance sustainable building complex earned Platinum LEED™ Certification in March, 2013 and demonstrates the use of energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, recycling, and environmentally preferable materials. The curation facility incorporated special envelope and mechanical systems to preserve over 3 million artifacts. In addition the on-site renewable energy systems are capable of offsetting 95% of the building energy requirements.
