Accessibility

Compliance with Section 508 Web site accessibility guidelines is important for governments and other organizations responsible for creating Web sites that are accessible to people with disabilities. Because the problem of implementing and maintaining accessibility is often more complex in a multi-authoring environment, CommonSpot provides several options to make Section 508 compliance easier for site administrators and page authors. Review these guidelines for creating accessible content in CommonSpot. CommonSpot includes a set of left-pane tools for evaluating the accessibility of individual pages at your site (see the Contributor's Reference for details).

In addition, many CommonSpot Elements offer the option to define default text in edit controls to make content more accessible.

Use administrative Accessibility Properties to set site-wide requirements for including ALT tags or to enable/disable the use of dynamically generated content.
