Visitor Center is OPEN 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Daily, Visitor Center is OPEN New Years Day.

Enjoy a Picnic
There are several great locations to choose from to enjoy a picnic at Colorado National Monument.
Devils Kitchen Picnic Area by the East Entrance has picnic tables, a shade shelter, charcoal grills, a drinking fountain, bathrooms and garbage/recycling.
Saddlehorn Picnic Area near the Visitor Center has picnic tables, charcoal grills, a drinking fountain, bathrooms and garbage/recycling.
There are also a few tables under a shade shelter at the Visitor Center, with nearby drinking fountains, bathrooms and garbage/recycling.
Devils Ktichen Picnic Area and Saddlehorn Picnic Area can be reserved for special events, permits and fees apply.
Did You Know?
Each Independence Day, local climbers scale the iconic Independence Monument in Colorado National Monument and raise an American flag on top. This tradition dates back to early park promoter John Otto, whose route up Independence Monument climbers still follow.
