    Smoking is prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle. Charcoal fires are permitted only in provided grills in the campground and picnic areas. No wood fires. Gas stoves are permitted only in campground and picnic areas. All fireworks are prohibited.

Upper Section of Rim Rock Drive Reopens

Wednesday, December 14 at 3:00 p.m., Colorado National Monument will reopen the upper section of Rim Rock Drive from DS Road to Independence Monument Overlook to all traffic. Today, the Upper Section of Rim Rock Drive was plowed, sanded, and cleared of 4 inches of snow.

Expect winter driving conditions. Please use caution. Some patches of snow and ice may still exist.
